TURNER

A home built on an abandoned apple orchard on the Bayfield Peninsula in northern Wisconsin. The design draws from regional building traditions, Shaker restraint, and Japanese timber joinery, shaped by the memory of summer houses along the Brule River.

Simple gabled volumes are arranged with clear hierarchy and proportion. A timber frame with exposed, carefully articulated joinery supports a super-insulated enclosure constructed with 16-inch I-joist walls, forming a robust, airtight thermal envelope suited to the northern climate.
